Objective: Evaluate the technical :omplications of Tenckhoff catheters inperitoneal jialysis. Patients and methods: 470 patients were ncluded Tenckhoff catheter at Department of Surgery in Bach Mai Hospital from 2004 to 2012. Method: descriptive prospective and retrospective study. Results: Total 470 cases in which men 57.8 percent, women 42.2 percent. Average age 43.6 (6-80 year old). The rate of complications as follows: peritonitis 2.5-10.4 percent, catheter occlusion 5-12 percent, true catheter infections 1.2-20 percent, hydrocele 3.34 percent, other complications were at low rate. Conclusion: Technical abdominal Tenckhoff catheter is a simple, safe and effective technique. The surgeon should bewell trained in order to limit complications. Need expands to meet the treatment.
