The article provides insight into the symbols of mountains and forests common to both Oriental and Indian culture and the role of the symbols in depicting the heroes in the epic Mahabharata. Obviously, mountains and forests are objects that the Pandavas need to be aware of. Moreover, it is in these places that our heroes integrate and set themselves free. In order to achieve their inner peace, there is no choice but return to the peaceful mountain. Therefore, mountains and forests become specific symbols in the depiction of the heroes in the Mahabharata to illustrate ancient Indian religious life.
