The objective of this cross-sectional study was to study: 1) the prevalence of nosocomial acquired meningitis in brain post-operated patients
and 2) the caring factors associated to nosocomial acquired meningitis in brain post-operated patients in two hospital A and B during 01/01/2012- 01/10/2012. Data collected from medical records and patient's charts. The results showed the prevalence of nosocomial acquired meningitis in brain post-operated patients was 9,6 percent , nursing care with high standard level was 54.7 percent , moderate level was 27.8 percent and low level was 17.4 percent . Patients operated with non-preparedness, the 2nd operation, low number of body washings and caring for drained catheters were high risks for post-operated meningitis.
