The survey findings on the situation of physical infrastruture and equipment for communicable diseases prevention via data collection forms at 20 project provincial preventive medicine centers, 60 district health centers (selecting randomly 3 districts in each province) and 120 commune health centers (selecting randomly 2 communes in each district) according to the standards of the Ministry of Health show that: The physical infrastruture of all surveyed provincial preventive medicine centers did not meet the standards. The physical infrastruture of surveyed district health centers were very poor: 5 percent of those did not have working place, 61.7 percent of those did not have specialized cars for epidemic control. The specialized equipment for epidemic prevention and control lacked a lot at all levels when compared to the standards. The mean score on equipment for epidemic prevention and control at provincial preventive medicine centers only attained 47.7/100 points, the district health centers only did less than 30/100 points, very few of surveyed commune health centers had simple equipments for testing.
