The purpose of this study was to identify the reliability of modified TRISS methodology as a tool to predict the prognosis in trauma patients at Viet Duc hospital. The re lts indicated that 78.8 percent (2971/3772) of patients were male, 21.2 percent were female. 323 (8.5 percent) patients died. ROC of RTS = 0.9 (0.88 - 0.92, CI 95 percent)
ROC of ISS = 0.91 (0.90 - 0.93, CI 95 percent)
Modified TRISS methodology in use showed ROC = 0.95 (0.92 - 0.97, CI 95 percent),. Sn = 55 percent, Sp = 98.4 percent, PPV = 76.6 percent, NPV = 95.8 percent
M = 5.2 percent
and Z = 0.11 (p 0.05). In conclusion, modified TRISS methodology is a reliable tool to predict the prognosis in trauma patients.
