Objective: To study the clinical characteristics, clinical approach and evaluate early results of surgery in acute pancreatitis due to gallstones. Methods: retrospective descriptive study and prospective patients over 68 cas by pancreatitis due to gallstones by surgically treated at the Surg. Department of Bach Mai Hospital 2008-2012. Results: epigastric pain, right upper quadrant 100 percent, 40 cas (60.47 percent) had vomiting, 49 cas (72 percent) had jaundice, flatus secret 29 cas (42.6 percent), abdominal 57 cas (83.82 percent), epigastric reaction and sprawled down to 57 cas (83.82 percent), with a volume on umbilical examination is 4 cas ( 5,88 percent), point back ribs 20 cas positive is 29.4 percent occupied. The number of patients with fever of 37.5°C 31 cas accounted for 45.58 percent. Siem sound capable of pancreas was observed 56 cas for 83.35 percent, 65 cas CT occupied 95.58 percent of gallstones cr capable identified 97.67 percent 94.19 percent ultrasound. Surgery 1 week before in 53 patients: complication rate 8/53 patients (15.09 percent). 1 week after surgery in 11 patients: Complication rate 2/11 patients (18.0 percent). Treatment results: good 51 patients accounted for 79.68 percent, average 14.06 percent occupied 9BN, bad as 6.26 percent (1.56 percent induding death). Conclusion: The diagnosis is based on clinical signs have value orientation, ultrasound and computerized tomography diagnostic value determined. Pancreatitis due to gallstones early surgical treatment gives good results.
