Objective: To assess the result of the early intervention for mental and behavior disorders in schoolchildren of Hoang Van Thu Primary School and Nguyen Du Secondary School in Thai Nguyen city, Viet Nam after 2 years of intervention. Method: cross-sectional study

combine the quantitative and qualitative study to assess the result of the early intervention for mental and behavior disorders in school children of Hoang Van Thu Primary School and Nguyen Du Secondary School in Thai Nguyen city. Time: 9/2009 - 1 /2012. Result: - There was an significant improvement of KAP of parents and teachers on student mental health care
- The abilities of teachers and school nursing staffs on school children mental health care were significantly improved..
- The prevalence of school children with mental health problems was significantly decreased when compared with that of in cotroled group and before intervention
- In group of 107 schoolchildren with mental health problems were treated, 55 were become normal (51,4 percent), 26 were almost recoverd (24,3 percent). Conclution: The result of early intervention for mental and behavior disorders in 6 - 15 years school children in Thai Nguyen city was effective.
