Introduction: Retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery was widely applied for the treatment of ureteropelvic junction stenosis. the study aims to evaluate initial results of this approach in Viet Duc Hospital. Patients and method: A prospective study was performed on 27 patients with ureteropelvic junction stenosis treated by retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery. Results: 15/27 male patients accounted for 55.6 percent and women accounted for 44.4 percent. The average age was 32.4 + or - 15.7 years (17-57 years). Intervention patients right and left are patients. Average operation time: 135.42 + or - 26.67 minutes (45-210). The amount of blood lost during surgery average: 33.15 ml (10-90). Average hospital stay: 5.8 + or - 2.3 days (3-11). Results achieved 96.3 percent success. 1 patient (3.7 percent) switch to open surgery due to renal pelvis ureter inflammatory edema stick. There were 9 cases to detect stenosis causes fibrous bands or songs connected by abnormal blood vessel compression. Subscribe postoperative urine leakage with 1 patient after surgery to endoscopic retrograde reset JJ sonde. All patients examination after 1 month, 23 patients examination after 3 months, who achieved good results on ultrasound and UIV was 87 percent. Conclusions: efficacy of retroperitoneal lapaparoscopic surgery for ureteropelvic junction stenosis was similar to open surgery, but shorten hospital stay and higher aesthetic.
