The aim of this study is to evaluate the results of radical surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy with palitaxel and carboplatin for ovarian carcinoma stage IC, II at K hospital, and to determine influence factors involved in treatment successes. Methods: Please describe briefly the radical surgical procedure, how many patients were involved in the studies, and method of evaluating the results? Results: The mean follow-up was 22.9 + or - 17.2 months and the overall survival (OS) was 56.3 + or - 3.0 months. The overall survival was still high with 79.9 percent of the patients survived after 3 years and 71.9 percent of the patients survived after 5 years of therapy. The other measurement of the effectiveness of cancer therapy was the measurement of Disease - Free Survival (DFS) rate. The average DFS for this study was 45.4 + or - 3.4 months. After 3 years post-therapy, 63.8 percent of the patients were still disease-free. The DFS reduced to 41.2 percent. There were correlation between CA125 levels and cancer stages to cancer recurrence and mortality risk. Conclusions: These results suggest that the combination of radical surgical and adjuvant chemotherapy is an effective treatment regime in treating state IC-II ovarian carcinomas.
