Literature in general and short stories in particular during the period 1945-1975 were written and published for political purposes. They were to encourage willing involvement in the war, to provide revolutionary propaganda and to expressing the mood of patriotism and willingness to protect the socialist republic of Vietnam. To this end, the writers were very aware that they were creating an unreal image of the world, doing this through the use of building up language text layers. From the point of discourse theory, the authors see this very clearly. In this article, the authors clarify the strategy of creating the language text layers in short stories that were written during the period 1945-1975.
