Biogas is an important solution that animal breeding industry, one of the significant green house gas generators in Vietnam, can take in response to waste treatment and climate change. This paper estimates benefits of biogas application in Ngoc Lu and An Noi communes, Binh Luc district, Ha Nam province. The benefits include energy saving, revenues from selling certified reduction credits, fertilizer cost saving and health cost reduction. Results show that benefits of biogas are 7,126 thousands VND per household per year. This finding provides important input to policy making related to climate change mitigation as well as development of new rural areas, contributing to sustainable development.
