Objectives: Evaluate the clinical and radiology features of teardrop fracture and its outcome. Patients and methods: prospective study of 39 patients who were diagnosed teardrop fracture from C3 to C7 and operated from 1/2011 to 3/2012. Results: male (66.7 percent), female (33.3 percent), mean age 34.38 + or - 13.43. Level of fracture: 1 level (89.7 percent), 2 levels (10.2 percent), the most common level was CS. 100 percent patients have neck pain, 20.5 percent has spinal shock, 70,5 percent neurological deficit. Type I: 10.3 percent. Type n: 46.1 percent. Type IlIa: 17.9 percent. Type IIIb: 17.9 percent. Type IV: 7.7 percent. Mean time follow up 8.3 + or - 4.6 (89.7 percent), good recovery: 42.9 percent, fair: 17.1 percent, moderate: 14.3 percent, bad: 25.7 percent. Conclusions: outcome depends on preoperation neurological deficits.
