This research shows the effects of climate change on aquaculture activities. Climate change has a negatively effect on areas, productivity and seasons of aquaculture in Phu Yang district, Thua Thien-Hue province. The aquaculture holding has been promptly reduced due to the trend of temperature changing and sea level increasing in the period from 2005 to 2012. Furthermore, the abnormal weather has harmfully affected the breeds and activities of aquaculture. In this period of time, just from 2007 to 2009, there were 26 hurricanes, floods and cold in Phu Yang with large-scale influence. Economic damage was counted to 157.3 billion VND and the uncountable loss is the die of 52 people. In addition, this research also analyzes the adaptation of fishermen for the purposes of proposing appreciate solutions to aquaculture areas in Phu Vang district, Thua Thien-Hue province. According to survey data, there was 64 percent of households have changed from sugpo prawn/model to integrated model in Phu Yang. The fishermen have developed higher techniques such as moving to semi-extensive aquacultures model.
