A four - week experiment was carried out in order to evaluate the effect of three dietary formula (CT1 - Processed feed
CT2 - Pellet feed and CT3 - Commercial feed together with tubifex worm) on growth and survival rate of the Russian sturgeon from fingerling to juvenile. The results showed that the fish fed on the formula CT3 gave higher absolute and relative growth rates compared to those of the formula CT2 (1.76 g/ind/day
48.92 percent as opposed to 1.1 g/ind/day
36.69 percent
P 0.05). However, there were no significant differences about these two parameters between the formula cn (1.38 g/ind/day
42.31 percent) and those of the formula CT2 and CT3 (P 0.05). Similarly, the fish fed with the formula CT3 obtained the highest final body weight (26.83 g/ind.), followed by the formula CT1 (23.12 g/ind.) and lowest at the formula CT2 (20.45 g/ind.) (P 0.05). The survival rates of the fish fed by the formula CT3 and CT1 were higher than those of the formula CT2 (82.83
82.17 as opposed to 67.17 percent
P 0.05). From the results of this study, it can be suggested that the formula CT3 was the most appropriate diet for rearing the Russian sturgeon from fingerling to juvenile.
