Purpose: Evaluate the clinical characteristics of the factors cause fibrosis vitreous and the complications caused by fibrosis vitreous. Method: the authors evaluate the clinical features of fibrotic vitreous in 95 eyes of 91 patients, who indicated vitrectomy in from 2011 to 2012 at the Ophthalmologic Department of Hospital 1 08. Results: Mean age 48,6 + or - 17.6, male/female ratio 3.7. Clinical risks factors for fibrotic vitreous include vitreous haemorrhage 58.9 percent, vitreous degenerative 11.6 percent, inflammatory 12.6 percent and intraocular foreign body 5.3 percent. These factors as a result of many disease processes such as diabetic retinopathy 20 percent, ocular trauma 37.9 percent, age-related macular degenerative 4.2 percent, uveit 7.4 percent, vasculitis 7.4 percent, and retinal vein occlusion 10.5 percent. Vitreous fibrosis caused many complications such as retinal detachment 33.7 percent, CME 10.5 percent, macular hole 2.1 percent and epiretinal membrane 15.8 percent. The visual acuity reduced over time, the mean visual acuity was 0.03 + or - 0.003. Mean intraocular pressure was 17.4 + or - 2.6mmHg. Conclusions: Vitreous fibrosis is a complex syndrome, due to many causes, which can reduce vision and cause many other complications threatening vision loss as well as the integrity of ocular.
