The daily activities of the Bahnar ethnic people living in a buffer zone are having a negative impact on biodiversity in Kon Ka Kinh National Park. Due to inefficient use of land, a lack of jobs and work variety, a government policy which does not protect the forest, low income and a rapid increase in population has resulted in an excess exploitation of forest products. The people burn the trees and clear the land for cultivation and they take many forest products to sell to outsiders. This is reducing biodiversity in the Park. The results of this research leads to a recommendation that authorities at every level plan, survey and then issue certificates of land use rights so that the community can legally make a living, the population in the locality can be limited, new technologies can be introduced and their be regulations under which people living in the buffer zone can take part in managing and protecting the forest and share in the profits gained through the sale of forest products.
