Study the distribution, growing and development ability and absorb heavy metals of reed plant on land after mining in Thai Nguyen province has showed that the reed plants were distributed in the different terrain. The frequency of the reed is much more at the low topography place and proximity to water and the opposite is descending. Reed plants adapted and grown well on ore mines, the average of plant height from 1.2 to 1.9m, leaf length averaged 0.35 - 0.45m, the average of root length from 0.2 to 0.3m. Heavy metal content of As, Pb, Cd in the soil after mining lead-zinc mine (Cuoi Nac), titanium mine (Cay Tram), iron mine (Trai Cau) and lead-zinc mines (Lang Hich) are overed several times the Vietnamese standard regulation which allowed in agricultural land.
