New bis-quinoline derivatives (7a-b) were synthesized via a two-step procedure. In the first step, the reaction of 4,7-dichloroquinoline (4) with 3 and 4-aminoacetophenone in methanol under reflux for 6 hours afforded corresponding intermediates 5a-b in good yields. In the second step, the compounds 5a-b were reacted with 7-chloro-4-hydrazinoquinoline (6), which was prepared by the reaction of 4, 7dichloroquinoline (4) with hydrazine (80 percent ) in ethanol under reflux, to obtain novel bis-quinoline derivatives (7a-b) in good yields. All synthesized compounds were structurally characterized by modern spectroscopic methods: IR, 1H, 13C NMR and MS.
