The aim: Describe characterization of dental arch form, maxillary central incisors crown shape and correlation between dental arch form and maxillary central incisors shape of the studen's.group in Thai Nguyen university of Medicine and Pharmacy. Method: the study was performed on 88 individuals aged 18-25 (35 males and 53 females) with full permanent denture, prosthetic or orthopedic untreatment and no pathology effected to dental arch form development. Result: the most prevalent dental arch form was ovoid and square (83,0 percent) and tapered 17,0 percent. The most prevalent maxillary central incisors shape was ovoid 77,3 percent, followed by square 20,3 percent, and tapered 2,3 percent. Correlation between dental arch form and maxillary central incisors shape was 56,8 percent, it is interesting to notice that the correlation between ovoid dental arch form and ovoid tooth shape was 81,1 percent. Conclusion: the result of the study showed that not to apply European standard index for Vietnamese, Vietnamese dental arch form has characterized morphology and further research is necessary to have appropriate practice in diagnosis and treatment.
