Purpose: Assess the fasibility, safety, efficacy of laparoscopic apendectomy. Subject and method: A prospective, desriptive, uncontrolled method was performed on patients with acute appenditis underwent laparoscopic apendectomy in department of gastroentero surgery in lao. Results: 150 patients including 92 males( 61.3 percent), 58 females (38,7 percent), mean age: 30.3 + or - 8.1. All patients were undewent laparoscopic apendectomy with 3 trocarts. Mean time of operation: 41.2 + or - 14.3 minutes, recovery time of digestive motion: 23.1 + or - 8.7 hours, pain time after operation: 1.5 + or - 0.8 days. Hopitalization time: 3.5 + or - 1.7 days, infection rate: 1.3 percent. No complication and mortality was recorded. Conclusions: laparoscopic apendectomy for treatment of apendicitis was shown a safety, efficacy, feasibility and was a good choice to replace open apendectomy.
