The development of Learning Management System in the recent years has opened up intelligence-oriented solutions to classify students in online courses. In this paper, the authors show the psychological and pedagogical impacts of adopting Adaptive Learning Management System (ALMS) on improving the training quality of online courses. the authors set up a problem to realize and orient learners in the ALMS. To solve this problem, the authors first show the psychological fundamental of classifying learners. the authors then point out the reason to select the learning orientation model as a tool of identifying learners in online courses. Finally, the authors propose a suitable solution to applying this model into individualized learning in adaptive online-courses. As the result, this proposal will set up a pedagogical platform for integrating the solutions to build a software tool to classifying online students in ALMS in the next researches.
