The growth of the nations usually leads to the problem uf income disparity. The gender income gap is one uf the issues that have been widely studied over the world. In this article, the authors employed quantity regression techniques to study the gender income gap in Ho Chi Minh city. Moreover, the author decomposed the gender income gap into the explained portion by gender differences in characteristics and the unexplained portion. The authors show that the gender income gap really exists in Ho Chi Minh city, in hoth urban and rural districts. The explained portion of the gap is ahout 25 percent.
