This study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of sub-epithelial connective .tissue graft surgery with coronal flap in soft tissue augmentation of anterior maxillary anterior edentulous area. Sub-epithelial connective tissue graft surgery with coronal flap was performed on 10 patients (25 to 45 years old) with a chief complain of the unanesthetic maxillary anterior prosthesis. GI, the thickness of soft tissue, and the patient satisfaction were compared before and 3 months after the surgery. Three months after sub-epithelial surgery, an adequate anesthetic outcome was achieved with a decrease of GI from 0.66 + or - 0.48 to 0.41 + or - 0.49 (p 0.001) and an increase of soft tissue thickness from 2.15 + or - 0.86 mm to 3.29 + or - 0.99 mm (p 0.001)
90 percent patients were satisfied with the surgery. Sub-epithelial connective tissue graft surgery with coronal flap can be considered as an effective method in soft tissue augmentation of anterior maxillary edantulous area. The prognosis of anesthetic outcome could also be defined.
