This paper is concerned with lecturing by means of case study in legal education in Vietnam. First of all, the paper discusses the possibility of using the court s judgments for materials to generate case studies based on the analyses of features and values of judgments in Vietnam's legal system. Then, the paper introduces the concept of case study and methods of teaching with case studies from the practice of legal education in Vietnam and from civil law and common law legal system countries. Finally, the author presents the method for the generation of case studies using the court's judgments and the means for the utilization of them in various teaching methodologies using case studies. The paper aims at contributing to the enhancement of general awareness of basic issues concerned with the use of judgments in legal education in Vietnam, making it possible for this activity to be deployed methodologically and effectively.
