The descriptive cross-sectional survey combining both qualitative and quantitative methods on some border health quarantine activities and professional trainings for border health quarantinevstaff at 15 Internationalvborder health quarantine centers or Provincial preventive medicine centers if the survey provinces do not have International centers for border health quarantine. Results: The system of border quarantine management had clear organizational structure and the regulations of professional activities. Most units can do border health quarantine for almost all of the people who are subjects for quarantine (86.7 percent) and almost all of the vehicles which are subjects for quarantine at border gates (93.3 percent). The percentage of the border health quarantine centers having ever used vaccines in border health quarantine activities was low, accounting for only 40 percent
activities such as medical insulation, direct medical examination and preventive medications were not applied by many centers, accounting for 73.3 percent, 60 percent and 53.3 percent, respectively. The border health quarantine centers held training courses on important issues related to the prevention of infectious diseases
two thirds of the border health quarantine centers held training courses on emerging infectious diseases for their staff.
