Objective: To evaluate histopathological features and to correlate histopathology with clinical and laboratory features. Patients and method: The prospectively analytical observation study in the 91 children with lupus nephritis was included if they fulfilled the 1997 ACR criteria and had renal impairement. Results: the mean age at onset of SLE was 11.6 + or - 2.2 years, the female to male ratio was 10.4:1. Class IV nephritis observed in 38/91 (41.7 percent) patients, was the most frequent histopathology on initial renal biopsy
class III, II, V nephritis appeared less frequently 28.6 percent?, 17.6 percent and 7.7 percent, respectively.
