Almost Khmer in the south of Vietnam in general and the Khmer in Tra Vinh in particular believe in the Theravada Buddhism. Therefore, this religion has a large effect on the thought and morality of the Khmer. This article explained the causes of this effect and simultaneously proposed some views on promoting the positive aspects and limiting the negative aspects.
