Sung thien Dien linh tower at Doi Son commune, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province was built in the Ly period (opening in 1122) and there are now some ruined remains and a stele with 6 statues. The archaeological excavation in 200I revealed part of the architectural foundation and bases with their building materials and architectural components having typical characteristics of the Ly - period fine arts. The data show that the tower had 13 storeys, which was used to worship Buddha on the lotus base in the centre and there was golden bell hang at the comer and so on. It was a sacred tower from the Ly period. Its name and dragon inscription on its pedestal suggest aspiration "honoring goodness" and prayer for the birth of the prince, the son of King Ly Nhan Tong.
