Adult liver transplantation remains under developing in Vietnam. Currently, there is very little research on the techniques as well as the effects of this procedure. the study analyzed 19 cases of adult liver transplantation that have been performed at Viet Duc hospital from November 2007 to December 2013 (including 3 cases of living donor, 16 cases of cadaveric donor). Results: There were 18 males, 1 female with 16/19 of cases were positive to HBsAg, 1/19 was positive to HCV. 1/19 was alcoholism. Diagnostically, 15/19 of cases were hepatocellular carcinomalliver cirrhosis and 4/19 of cases were decompensated liver cirrhosis. Sixteen patients have a good outcome, one patient died in the second week post-transplant because of the hepatic vein outflow obstruction. Conclusions: Adult liver transplantation can be performed with living donor or cadaveric donor. The combined efforts of many staff and departments were required to achieve the best outcomes.
