Objectlves: 1/ To describe the clinical and X-ray features of closed extra-articular distal radial fractures. 2/ To assess the results of treatment closed extraarticular distal radial fractures with Kapandji technique. Patients and methods: From. 12/2012 to 6/2013, 32 closed extra-articular distal radial fractures were treated with Kapandji technique, at Viet Duc hospital. Results: There were 15 male and 17 female patients. Average-age was 41.8 years. The fractures included 18 A2 and 14 A3 according to AO classification. Radiographic results according to J.L Haas and J.Y de la Caffiniere's criteria were excellent in 40.6 percent of the cases, good in 46.9 percent, and fair in 12.5 percent. Functional results according to the Gartland and Warley score, modified by Sarmiento were excellent in 84.6 percent, good in 15.6 percent. Conclusions: Kapandji technique is a simple, safe, effective method for the treatment closed of extra- articular distal radius fractures.
