Intervention by life-style, changes has many effectivenesses in the people with hyperuricemia and metabolic syndrome. A community-based intervention study was conducted among 65 subjects equal or over 40 years of age in Can Tho city. Serum uric acid, triglycerid, HDL-C, glycemia and other variables including age, sex, waist measurement, blood pressure were mesearured in this study. Results: The prevalence of hyperuricemia and the mean of uric acid after intervention was statisticany significant lower than before (p 0.01). The prevalence of metabolic syndrome after intervention was statistically significant lower than before (p 0.001) (29.2 percent vs 72.3 percent).
