Study objectives: This study aims to describe the real situation of applying the methods of traditional medicine in the governmental traditional medicine facilities of Hung Yen province 2009. Methodology: method of cross-sectional study is used for investigating all medical records of patients who were treated in provincial traditional medicine, 12 traditional medical departments of general hospitals and 136 community health stations in year of 2009. Results: The percentage of using traditional medicine in provincial traditional medicine hospital, while in general hospitals and community health stations are 99.8 percent,6.1 percent and 10.1 percent. Among of them, herbal medicine are used the. most in provincial and district level while traditionai medical drugs were more often in community health station. The percentage of using accupuncture in provincial traditional medicine hospital, in general hospitals and community health stations are 84.3 percent, 5.4 percent and 11.8 percent. In which, electrical acupuncture is applied the most in level of province and districts, while the body acupuncture is mainly used in community health station. Percentage of using massage press-point method in provincial, district and community level are 64.8 percent, 0.7 percent and 6.7 percent. The method of qigong is almost not used in all health facilities of 3 levels. Conclusion: There are diferrent applies of traditional medical methods in the governmental health facilities in Hung Yen province.
