There have been various levels of perceptions of sea of Vietnamese poets from time immemorial. As for the poet-politician Nguyen Trai, sea is the symbol of great ambition, the desire for freedom and purity. At the same time, sea attached to the country, territory, the people, and the vicissitudes of history. As for the politician-poet statesman King La Thanh Tong, the perception of the sea associated with the thoughts of managing state affairs and securing a peaceful life for the people.
