Prognosis of sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma (SNSCC) depends on TNM staging, histologic categories and expression of cell-surface receptors (p53, Ki 67, EGFREpidermal Growth Factor Receptor (ErbB-1
HER1...). Objectives: 1- Determine the rate of EGFR expression in biopsy samples and 2- Collate the rate of EGFR expression with clinical features in SNSCC. Materials and Methods: Prospective case study on thirty-two SNSCC patients treated at National ENT Hospital in two years (2011-2012). Clinical presentations, CT scan imaging were analysed and biopsy samples were categorised to investigate EGFR expression (Her-1). Results and Discussions: The rate of EGFR expression in SNSCC was 53.1 percent, with 25 percent was scored 3+. EGFR was postive in 50 percent (16/32) stage III patients (21,4 percent was scored 3+) and 75 percent (3/4) stage IV patients (50 percent was scored 3+). The EGFR-positive rate was higher in exophytic, advanced stage with neurologic deficits and cerviallymphadenopathy. Conclusions: The EGFR was positive in 53,1 percent of sino nasal squamous cell carcinoma.
