Aims: This study has been performed to evaluate the pathology of choledochal cystic disease and its treatment. Patients and Methods: 36 cases of choledochal cyst treated in Hue Central Hospital from 1/2009 to 6/2011. The study design is observational and prospective. Clinical and laboratory findings, and operative result were noticed and analysed. Result: 55.6 percent of patients were children and 44.4 percent were adults. Female/male ratio was 2.3/1. Abdominal pain presented in 69.4 percent of cases. Type I presented in 97.2 percent and type IV presented in 2.8 percent. 47.2 percent of operations were opened and 52.8 percent were laparoscopic. 8.4 percent had early postoperative complications. Long-term results at a follow-up of 3 months and 6 months were good. Conclusion: Choledochal cyst presented in any age of life. Abdominal pain was the usual clinical symptom. Usual types of choledochal cyst were I and IV. Operative procedures were total cystectomy and Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy by laparoscopy or open. Postoperative result was overestimated.
