Understanding structure of flammable materials and their fire behavior in different forest types is essential in forest fire management. This paper presents the study results of flammable materials structure in seven forest types in Dak Lak province, where has the high risk of forest fire. Dry flammable materials amount in broad-leaved and bamboo mixed forest ranks highest with 24.25 tons/ha
then pine forest 12.375 tons/ha
semi evergreen forest 8.25 tons/ha
acacia forest 5.978 tons/ha
eucalyptus forest 5.626 tons/ha
dry open forest of dipterocarps 4.65 tons/ha
regenerative evergreen broad-leaved forest 4.125 tons/ha respectively. The evaluation result of fire risk degrees based on the structure of flammable materials in different kinds of forest has shown that, pine forest has very high risk of fires
acacia forest and open forest of dipterocarps are classified into high risk group
eucalyptus forest and broad-leaved and bamboo mixed forest, semi-evergreen forest and regenerative evergreen forest are at moderate risk.
