The Wood-Inoganic Composite (WIC) - a composite that is prepared by dispersion or impregnation of inorganic materials into the wood. In this paper, the Acacia hybridwood/TiO2 composite was prepared by sol-gel method with different concentration of titanium (IV) butoxide (TBOT) precursor. Some physical properties of the composite included wettability, water absorption and volumetric swelling were examined. The results showed that, the composite has become more hydrophobic than blank wood with the contact angle of 142°. The water absorption and volumetric swelling of composite were also improved comparing with the blank wood. In addition, it was found that the concentration of TBOT did not affect the wettability of composite significantly, but the concentration of TBOT was more importantly for water absorption and volumetric swelling of the composite.
