O Chau can luc (Recent records of O Prefecture) compiled by Dr. Duong Van An (coming from Quang Binh province) in 1555 based on two manuscripts about Thuan-Quang region written by two young scholars who were his fellow-countrymen. This is the first monography, rich in content and academically valuable, about that land. This article only mentions four mountains (Thuong Son, Huong Uyen, Quy Son, Hai Van) and two rivers (Linh Giang, Dan Dien) in Hue that the author recorded nearly 500 years ago, but still valid today. When compiling O Chau can luc, the author devoted the thoughts to his immortal work.
