This paper aims to review comprehensively a famous poem by Le Bat Trieu, which was about Emperor Quang Trung (Tay Son Dynasty). Basing on the analysis of issues in the field of textology, hermeneutics and in intertextual approach, the paper partly contributes to the answer of some questions which were addressed but has not been cleared up so far, such as: does the poem refer to King Quang Trung's coffin and his tomb? What were Le Bat Trieu's real views on King Quang Trung in particular and Tay Son Dynasty in general? What did most of Confucian intellectuals at that time think about King Quang Trung and Tay Son Dynasty? Finally, as an implication, the author suggests that it is very necessary for researchers to be careful and cautious in dealing with ancient resources which relate to pre-modern Vietnamese history.
