 The coastal area of Vietnam is blessed with an abundance of marine products and high biodiversity. However, the relatively ineffective way of investment and exploitation has seriously depleted the marine products resource and caused a decline in biodiversity, while the benefits gained has been incommensurate with Vietnamese marine potential. For this reason, the article focuses on elucidating effective exploitation of marine products in Vietnam in such aspects as: i) The situation on the exploitation of marine products in Vietnam
  ii) Limitations in exploiting marine products in Vietnam and their causes
  iii) Recommendations on effective exploitation of marine products in Vietnam.
