Introduction: In pediatric clinical practice, due to clinical requirement of early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), rapid urine tests such as urine dipstick are used widely, but performance characteristics of urine dipstick is still questionable. Objective: This study evaluates the value of urine dipstick based on LE and NIT as a diagnostic test of UTI in febrile children under 3 years olds. Subjects and Method: This prospective study was carried out in Pediatrics Department, Hanoi French Hospital. It focused on febrile infants of less than 3 years old with or without suspicion of UTI who admitted between May 2012 and May 2016. Results and conclusions: of 462 febrile infants identified, 130 (28 percent) were urine culture positive, in which there are 50 cases (28 percent) having dipstick negative and other 332 samples were culture negative.
