The study was earned out in three provinces of Soc Trang, Bac lieu and Ca Mau from January to June, 2011. Agents of value chains surveyed with written samples covered 261 shrimp breeders, 06 agents, traders and 5 processing companies. Approach used in this study is Value-link of GTZ (Deutsche Gesellschait fur Technische Zusammenarbeit, German). Production effectiveness of shrimp breeder was calculated for one hectare with parameters such as: cost, profit, breeder revenue, cost per unit, investment productivity
and analysis of value chain economic among factors were accounted for one ton of inputshrimp with parameters as revenue, intermediate cost (IC), gross profit (GrP), and net profit (NPr). The results showed that Average yield of shrimp breeding of year 2010 was relatively low, only 1.5 ton/ha on average. For intensive breeding of shrimps (industrial breeding), the average yield was 2 ton/ha only. Average of breeding forms, cost per unit of shrimp breeding reached 85,000 VND /kg
profit of shrimp breeders got 73 million VND per hectare
and only 69 percent of shrimp breeders could make a profit. Shrimp breeding would benefit various agents of the shrimp value chain and proportion of profits was relevant. Of the total profit the shrimp breeding, profit of shrimp breeders accounted for 70-80 percent, of traders for 7 percent, of agents for 15-16 percent, of 6-7 percent for processing - exporting companies. Almost fanners sold shrimps to traders/agents who were key points for current shrimp consumption.
