Allergic rhinitis is a disease due to disorders of IgE mediated allergic response. In the present study, IgE of patients suffered with allergic rhinitis by house dust mite D. pteronyssinus was much more higher than that of normal people. Allergen specific immunotherapy, especially sublingual immunotherapy, is a specific and effective treatment decreasing patients' sensitive levels with the allergen. After the treatment, diameter of erythemas of skin prick test was decreased. Rate of patients having possitive response with skin prick test before the treatment and after the treatment were respectively 100 percent and 27.5 percent. More over, the treatment also changed immunoglobulins in sera, such as decreasing IgE level (from 623.5 UI/ml to 315.2 UI/ml (p0.01)) and increasing IgG level (from 1403.1 mg percent to 1862.9 mg percent). It also modulated the other immunologic responses. Sublingual immunotherapy is a safe and high effective treatment easy to use with self patients.
