Penicillium Marneffei is a dimorphic fungus which is endemic in Southeast Asia. It is an opportunistic pathogen which is related severe immunodeficiency, like HIV/AIDS. Clinical manifestations and investigations are often non specific, may be related to other opportunistic infection. Penicillium Marneffei infection is a serious disease with significant mortality unless the diagnosis made early and timely appropriate antifungal therapy. Objective: this study reports the clinical characteristics and outcome of children with HIV - associated Penicillium Marneffei infection in., Infectious disease deparment, NHP. Method: retrospective review of all patients with blood culture Penicillium Marneffei positive. Result: The disease disseminated, youngest p,atient was 3 months, the oldest was 13 year olds. The majority of patients hadn't diagnosed HIV infection and not yet received anti retrovirus drug. They were in severe immunodeficiency. Fever is commonest symptom and skin lesion is characteristic symptom. Anemia, lymphadenopathy, hepatospleenomegaly are common but non specific, that may be related to other opportunistic infection. This is a serious infection with high mortality if not diagnosed early and treated with appropriate antifungal drugs. Standard antifungal treatment for AIDS patients with penicilliosis is well established.
