So far, the determination of the methane gas bearing capacity of the coal seams in the geological exploration process has been carried out with the Russian method. However, the results of this method are not accurate enough. The Japanese method for determining the methane gas bearing capacity of the coal seams in the process of the geological exploration has a lot of advantages and is easily implemented with the domestic available equipment and suitable to the economic and technical conditions in Vietnam. Moreover, this method always provides high accurate results.
