At present, most of the gas monitoring systems and the methane gas probes applied to the underground coal mines has been imported from Poland and Japan. One of the disadvantages of the methane gas probes is only used with its system and can not be linked with others. In the paper, the authors introduce the initial research results on the design and manufacture of the methane gas probe used in the gas monitoring system at Quang Ninh underground coal mines, replacing the imported ones.
