Purpose: Determination of surgical site infection ratio, causes and related factors. Methods: Horizontal survey of open surgical patients 48 hours after operation, from 1 Oct. 2010 to 30 Oct. 2010. Results: 199 open surgical patients 48 hours after operation were taken into survey. - Results of pus culture on infected wound: 3 out of 15 surgical site infection cases were found to have acinetobacter which is considered as an anti-microbial drug assistance "super bacteria".- Related factors need to be improved: + Preoperative patient preparation

+ Inappropriate postoperative wound care. Conclusion: Postoperative surgical site infections remain with high proportion. It is necessary to conduct further researches on surgical site infection, prophylactic antibiotic use.
