Sowing mungbean seeds in sugar solution with osmotic pressure 6 atm (87 g/l). Assess the germination and growth of seedlings in high osmotic pressure conditions. Determination of anpha-amylase enzyme activity and proline content in the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th days after seeding. The results showed that, in the high osmotic pressure solution, four Mung bean varieties were able to maintain good germination, but the ability of the seedling growth are strongly influenced. In final research process, sprout length was from 10.26 to 17.65 percent to reach the comparison. Phu Tho Yellow variety has least attenuation ability of germinate compared to the other varieties. Amylase enzyme activity is more varying in the germination period but to the 8th date after sowing, the activity of anpha-amylase enzyme of the Phu Tho Yellow and Tieu Hai Duong varieties were well maintained compared to the comparison (100-108.7 percent), two varieties also declined sharply (from 61.29 to 71.43 percent). After 8 days of germination and growth under high osmotic pressure conditions, Phu Tho Yellow variety has the ability to accumulate proline increased 27.19 percent compared with the comparison. The others have no significant changes. Phu Tho Yellow variety is similar to the best drought tolerance of four varieties in the research.
