The article explores the policy of Hue Imperial Court, and Emperor Tu Duc in particular, on Truong Dinh's resistance war against the French in the South of Vietnam. From the history written by the Nguyen Imperial Court, it can be seen that Truong Dinh was considered as a loyal who heroically sacrificed himself for the cause of fighting against the French.
