For meeting the rapidly increasing coal demands for our economic development, Vinacomin has set up the strategy in enlarging and increasing the mining capacity of the existing coal mines and in investing in the construction of new coal mines. Recently, Institute of Mining Science and Technology has carried out many research works for determining the coal reserves beyond the open pit mining boundary but can be exploited by underground method, determining the mutual impacts in open pit and underground co-mining activities under the geological conditions in Quang Ninh coal basin to propose the reasonable open pit and underground co-mining flowsheet.
